Audio editing requires a program with the functionality of Sony Sound Forge  Typically an applicant for the position of Audio Editor will already own suitable hardware and software. If they do not have such, they may not have enough editing background to be successful.

Nearly everyone involved needs access to the internet to receive assigned tasks and to report on work accomplished.

Translators and Language Editors need a text capable computer.

Both the audio and video editors need a fairly robust computer. A computer with two monitors is very useful for creating screen captures of the scrolling text. The second monitor is a great tool, but it is not essential.

To avoid problems with noisy electricity, it is recommended that a hand-held battery powered voice recorder be used.

The Marantz PMD660 Handheld PMD Digital Media Recorder provides excellent quality recording. A separate microphone is recommended

The Zoom H2 Handy Recorder is a less expensive alternative. It uses an on board mic. Noise reduction software from Sony Software should be considered.
