Translation Toolkit for APAD

Project Team Members

These documents contain most of the information needed to manage an A Proverb a Day Project for a new language.

Our goal is to prove literacy and knowledge of God to as many indigenous language groups as possible. Each project must be funded by the people who have a love burden for a specific language. Each Project Director is responsible for developing funds for his or her project.

Three Categories of Production Folders

These folders are used for storing the three categories of “production files” .

 Basic Transcripts and Original Recordings

The basic episode translations and audio recordings are divided into two categories, “audio files” and “translated transcripts”  The audio files contain the recordings of the female voice for each episode.

There are two folders for transcripts. One contains the original translation and the other contains the translation that has been edited and approved for recording.

Radio Programs (production files only)

The “radio programs” folder contains folders for storing parts and pieces that are used to create a completed radio program…

Remember, this is a production folder. The completed radio programs that are ready for broadcast are stored in one of the “distribution” folders.

 Opening and Closing Remarks

These parts of radio programs may be used once or more than once. Both the transcripts containing the text of the remarks and the audio files containing the completed remarks should be stored in these folders with file names that make them easy to identify. For example: “opening_for_epsisode_003.doc” with a related audio file named “opening_for_episode3.mp3”

Scrolling Text Video

Video Production Files

The file types for both single and two language videos are identical, but they are stored in separate folders. The files types in these folders are discussed in greater detail in the document titled “APAD TMS - Producing Videos”.
